Besta TV and Media Storage Combination Review
Flat panel TV’s are more common in today’s house holds than ever before due to cost and availability. For those of us that live in apartments and other similar tight living spaces…this is GOOD news. Flat panel TV’s offer up massive space saving opportunities. Being able to reduce the size of your TV without sacrificing screen size is easy with the advent of flat panel TV’s. I have decided to take a look at the ever popular Besta TV and Media storage combination. I wanted to see if this is a viable solution for an apartment. Not only do you have the easy mount TV option, but you also gain some storage and shelving. I currently have my TV mounted to the wall with the use of a standard wall mount. For storage I utilize a credenza just below the TV. I have all the wires ran through the wall for a real clean look, but I need more storage, so thinking of this Besta Tv Media storage combination as an option.
Take a look at my current setup:
Now with these space saving storage modules you have many combination to choose from. You can make them as big as your want with the ability to add more modules. From a versatility standpoint you cannot beat this flexibility. What I review was the basic TV panel with the media storage. At first I was concerned about it being top heavy which is not the case. The floor model had a 60 inch plasma mounted to it and you could barley budge the thing. The over all the measurements are as follows:
- Width: 47 1/4 “
- Depth: 15 3/4 “
- Height: 94 1/2 “
So for apartment furniture would be a good reasonable size. The two large drawers were nice and really provided for some neat and clean storage. A simple pull on the drawer and you can easily see what the contents are…perfect for DVD or other media storage. If you are weary about drilling holes in your wall…don’t be, the wires from the TV run down the hollowed out panel providing a neat and cordless look. Probably the most coolest part of this piece of apartment furniture is the different color options. You can flip the panels for a completely different look. The standard is white, but on the other side you have a wood grained option. The maximum TV size is 60″ and the standard fit would be a 32 inch TV. As mentioned before the one we looked at had a 60″ TV on it and looked very nice. Leveling is a breeze at it comes with four adjustable legs.
The Besta media TV combination is made from particle board which is going to be the standard for cheap apartment furniture. I shouldn’t say cheap as this model had a price tag of $500. And that’s where I have to give this piece of apartment size furniture a no-go. The price for what you get seems a little on the steep end. Now, with the ability to add more pieces down the road it might be good if you are only in you apartment temporarily. May be OK if your moving into something bigger and would like the option to expand, but for a smaller sized apartment you could simply buy a reasonably priced apartment sized credenza and a TV wall mount and be good to go for a lot less money.
