I’m out on vacation, but thought I would drop some more quick tips on some things you can do beyond just buying small scale furniture:

1) Place the mirror in front of a window where the light can be reflected.  This will lighten up the room as well as adding a depth to narrow rooms.

2) Paint your ceiling a lighter shade than your walls.  This is a old trick, but very effective one.  White is alwyas the best, but if white is not your thing, you can go up to two shades lighter than the color of your walls.

3) Create a focal point in your small space.  Bringing your guests eyes to a certain object such as a fireplace, window or even a large picture on a larger wall will give keep peoples eyes busy and direct there attention.

4) Last but not least, lighting! Having some accent lighting that will reflect objects upwards will again draw attention up creating the illusion of more room.

Four simple ways that you can add space to your apartment.  Of course apartment size furniture is my most favorite way.  But couple small scale furniture with these tips and your on your way to a LARGER feel!
